Tallow was once an important staple in households all over the Western world. It was used to make shaving cream, candles, and it was easily accessible to everyone as cooking oil. Around World War II, tallow use fell out of favor, being replaced by vegetable oils and synthetic compounds.
Today, the increasing movement of people seeking clean, pure, and natural ingredients, has lead to a resurgence in the popularity of all natural tallow. However, the process to obtain and render tallow is time consuming, so this product is not as cheap as generic store bought lotions. It is an investment in an all natural, high quality and very effective product that your skin will love! Because tallow is ultra moisturizing, a little goes a long way too, so you do get longer usage out of tallow versus a generic lotion.
Tallow is effective in helping repair skin, preventing damage, and moisturizing, all of which promotes youthful skin. All of the antioxidants and vitamins help keep skin healthy and strong too. Tallow is also great for use on acne prone skin as it has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and will not clog the pores. The Jojoba oil we added to our Whipped Tallow Balm has been proven effective in acne and skin lesion treatment and may also play a supportive role in wound healing with it's anti-inflammatory properties.

4 Ingredients: Grass-fed Beef Tallow, Pure Jojoba Oil, Leucidal Liquid (NON-GMO plant based Radish Root preservative), and non toxic, phthalate free, paraben free fragrance oils.
What exactly is tallow? Beef tallow is a form of rendered fat (it has been cooked down from meat, and clarified/cleaned up), and is shelf stable. Because it has been gently clarified, there is no residual unwanted scents! Grass fed beef tallow has a highly beneficial nutrient content, which is why we chose it for our full body moisturizer product. There is nothing synthetic that is comparable! We also source most of our tallow from a local farm called Schuett's, so we know where it came from and that it is high quality!
